My photo
I'm not trying to be just another normal girl, in a messed up world. I'm living for Christ, not afraid to fight for what's right. While I'm waiting, I will serve You, while I'm waiting, I will worship, while I'm waiting, I will not faint, I'll be running the race, even while I wait. I will move ahead bold and confidant, taking every step in obedience, while I'm waiting.

Joy may not have come in the morning, but calm and peace hold the reins

This is my one hundred and sixty-first blog post. I'm proud about that. it means I actually write and have things to say. Either "outloud" to myself or to anyone out there willing to read. And I do hope that there are some people out there.

I do feel better this morning. More calm. I knew I would I always do. That doesen't mean I won't spiral down again later on but for right now, I rejoice in the calm.

Latkas! :) Two days ago, Wednesday, my mom made potato latkas. Sophie, Sophie's friend Becki, Grace and myself were in the kitchen as my mom was making them. My mom told Sophie they were potato pancakes and I said "latkas". The word latkas is Russian for potato pancakes. My mom knew that (she had made them because Grace has been doing family heritage stuff at school and we are somewhat Russian. Lithuanian to be precise) and was impressed and surprised I knew the word. I knew that I'd read it in a book. I kept thinking it was Kirsten of the American Girl Dolls but she was Swedish. Her books must have also had pancakes of some sort which is why it's sitting in my head, but I decided the book I must have read it in is one of the books in a series called Royal Diaries. Various writers wrote the story in journal form of princesses all throughout history, usually beginning in their childhood and ending in young adulthood, or when their story ended in real life. That would be the case of the book I'm recalling, one of my favorites in the series, Anastasia: The Last Grand Duchess, Russia 1914, written by Carolyn Meyer, published in August of 2000. Who doesn't know who Anastasia was? I won't recap her story for you, but I'm very close to positive that her story must have had potato pancakes in it, latkas. I had almost all the diaries in the series but Anastasia was one of the few I kept when I grew older and had to remove some of my younger childish books to make room for others. I have three bookcases in my room. All full. I need to find another...somewhere.

Last night befoer I went to sleep I texted Cha-Cha (best SMS search and answer engine around. Their number is 242-242. Try them out) and asked them two questions. I was curious to see if Cha-Cha would find my mother's blog and my blog. I asked if they knew the blog http://face-to-the-sunshine.blogspot.com/? That's my mom's. They did! Cha-Cha replied with the date and title of my mom's most recent post. It was cool. I still have to tell her. I asked the same question with my blog, using my URL http://head-in-the-clouds-mollizzabeth.blogspot.com/? They knew mine too and replied back with my most recent blog post (I don't use titles very often, but I think I might start) which was the one I wrote saying I needed to write about latkas. I was very impressed. I know I can google search myself (and I'm the first 8 results I think :) but Cha-Cha is way cooler.

Um, hey Mommy, if you read this, please don't be mad at me for using the laptop in my room. You know how I was last night and I just wanted to write in privacy and comfort. All I did was blog and I shut it down as soon as I was done. Please don't be mad. Oh and for using it again this morning. I feel better but I don't want to face the world (even just the downstairs world) yet.

This morning I will be going with my mother to our town hall to register my car. I'm very excited about it. The car has a name, and her name is Ziva. Ziva is the name  of a character on my favorite show. She is bold, stubborn, a bit wild and has a wonderful presence about her. And without a doubt, I can see her flooring the gas pedal in my car. I won't do that because I'm a safe smart driver who did not grow up driving in Israel (Ziva did!) and want to take car of my brakes and such, but the name fits my car. I can't wait to have real license plates too. I'm hoping to pay the extra money myself for a vanity plate but we shall see how much extra that does cost. Unfortunately, I don't see that it would be wise to post the what the plate will say, because this IS the internet and I don't need stalkers or crazy people finding me by my license plate. Not that any of my readers are stalkers or crazy people. But it's better to be safe then sorry.
My back bumper also has my Pro-Life bumper sticker on it. I've been saving it since October to put on my own car. I love it. I want to get more. Oh I want to get a Jesus fish! The Ichthys, or Ichthus, the Greek word for "fish". Those are probably the most known symbol for the back of someones car. Someone even wounded the meaning of it when they created was that instead of one that says "Jesus" is says "Darwin". How wrong that is.

Here's a picture of one, the right one.
I want one of these for my car.

Well, I think I must get off and get ready to go. My mom won't wait all day for me, even if I'm not ready because my fingers are racing across the keyboard. Understandable.

I hope to write later. Until then, may His peace also be with you.
